A painting of an abandoned corridor. The door was just inviting you to enter but not knowing what was on the other side. A bit like life, really.

A painting of an old run down prison corridor. The building was crumbling but I loved how that daily polish of the floor still looked brand new

Maternity, 2009

This is a painting of an old hospital maternity wing that was due to be demolished. The hospital was abandoned and with no people around, it had a very negative atmosphere. It reminded me very much of a prison wing.

A door at the end of the wing, the way out to freedom, Light at the end of the tunnel. I loved the reflections in the floor, which were polished daily and glimmered like glass

Looking out of a cell door into a corridor, I painted this from my imagination and memories.

A self-portrait, with my face covered in paint. Reflected in the glasses is the prison. We all wear a mask at some time in our lived and I did so during my life of crime. I had to become someone else, someone I don't recognise today. I'm so glad I found art, or rather art found me.
